Laser-based Innovation for Manufacturing Excellence and Sustainability Cluster

METAMORPHA has established a cluster of related EU projects working on sustainable laser-based manufacturing. LIMES partners are involved in various joint workshops and events: please see below for info. Enhancing the productivity and efficiency of additive manufacturing by using improved adaptive laser technologies

BILASURF

BILASURF aims at developing and integrating a process for high-rate laser functionalization of complex
3D surfaces using tailored designed riblets to reduce friction with the help of inline monitoring capabilities.

BioFibreLoop

Recyclable textiles with bio-inspired functionalisation will be produced from bio-based materials


LASERWAY

Replacing conventional, inefficient, and environmentally harmful methods with highly flexible production lines based on high-speed laser technology.


METAMORPHA

The METAMORPHA concept is a single agile ultrashort pulse laser micromachining platform to replace many conventional manufacturing process chains. METAMORPHA is all-electric, all-digital, produces no waste chemicals and enables novel processes for product rework and repair.


OPeraTIC

OPeraTIC seeks to boost the industrial adoption of high power ultra-short pulsed lasers, through the development of a state-of-the-art modular manufacturing platform. The open, interoperable, and expandable platform architecture will tackle the current barriers impeding industrial uptake of large 3D parts micro-structuring.


OPTIMAL

OPTIMAL will integrate different laser lithography technologies, quality monitoring systems and processes in a single platform to improve the manufacturing of original “masters” needed for replication processes in many industries, including optical, industrial and medical device manufacture.

Modular laser sources for sustainable production of short personalized production series, focusing on two industrial scenarios related to the complex multi-material component and assembly.
